Therefore, you have to take some specific actions to get up. You should think of how can you use your time better and what are the benefits of getting out of bed.

Of course, there are some days when you can just be lazy and lay on the bed, but it is not good to do for every day.  You might have a free day from work, or you have an open schedule, and you can start your work or activities at what time you want. However, you just would like to get something done before the day ends and not just be lazy and spend a whole day in the bed.

For me, this has been a problem on some days because I am a freelancer and I don’t usually need to wake up at the specific time. I can just do my work at what time I want to. So, for me, it’s sometimes harsh to get up in the morning because I just don’t have to. Luckily I have found out that many techniques can help to solve the problem if I only member to use those.

So, there is something that you can do!

By following the tips outlined in this article, you can manage to get up from the bed even though your bed feels comfortable.

How to Get out of Bed?

It is tough to get up if you don’t have a reason for that and especially when the bed feels so comfortable. What can you do to get up from your bed and get to do some light activities as described above?

Here are some suggestions, please pick any of what you think that could work with you.

1. Go to Bed Earlier

You can’t ignore this step if you really want to get up early, even if you don’t need to.

It’s so easy to stay awake when you know that you don’t have to wake up early time. If you want to keep up getting wake and get up early enough, it is better to keep on tightly your circadian rhythm.

You may be surprised when you wake up in the morning because you notice how much time you have during the day to do many things. And still, you have time for taking it easy.

2. Try to Get Natural Light First at Morning

It is crucial to get enough light inside if you want to get up. Otherwise, your brain will tell you that it is still night time and you don’t have to leave your bed.

One benefit of getting natural light is also, especially when it’s a sunny day, you probably get some effort to get up and at least think about going outside. Hopefully, you’ll succeed outside when it’s the sunny day!

3. Stop Using Your Bed to Watching TV or Play Video Games

BUT WHY?

It might be good to stay in bed in some RARE cases watching TV, like a holiday or when it’s weekend, but it’s not good to do it whenever you wake up.

It’s because of your brain, once more. Your brain might start to feel that the bed is for any activities what you want to. You should not let your brain to get a feel of that kind. Rather than that, think what benefits there is if you can get up and do any essential activities and later watch TV and other activities.

4. Stretch and Move a Little Bit

Try to stretch your arms and legs and turn around side to side. In the end, this might feel so good that you want to get up because you want to move more. And when you get up from the bed, you feel like very light and relaxed.

If you don’t do any movements, you can get just totally sticky, and any kind of moving could be hard. Comfortable feel so good that you don’t want to get up.

Start little by little, and you will feel great when you finally can get up.

5. Set Your Alarm Clock Far from Your Bed

If you want to be very rude to yourself, you can set your alarm clock to ring early in the morning and place it far from your bed. Then you must stand up.

But don’t go back to bed! If this is your problem, you could set another alarm clock, and place it even farther from your bed.

Actually, there is something even better that can help you get out of bed, and not go to back to your bed again. I just read about an APP called Alarmy in Reddit. Alarmy works like a standard alarm clock, but there is more. You have to, for example, solve a quiz to shut the alarm off.

The “quiz” can be a math problem that you need to solve, or you have to shake your phone until it is obvious that you awaken. Furthermore, one option is to take a picture. You can set the alarm “by registering a photo of an area or room in your house”. When the alarm starts to ring in the morning “the only way to make it stop ringing is to get out of bed and go take a photo of the registered area.”

6. Reward Yourself

It’s totally fine to reward yourself after you can get up, even if you don’t have to. Eat something – healthy – good food for breakfast. Drink some special good juice.

Of course, for this, you need to do these preparations before you go to sleep. Actually, you can do a lot of preparations if you want to.

You can also set your clothes nicely close to the bed that you can quickly wear them and feel comfortable in the right clothes.

You can prepare your way to kitchen or bathroom very nicely.

But, what’s more, you can …

7. Find Another Comfortable Place

If you don’t need to do anything for the whole day and you just want to stay inside the entire day, you can move to another comfortable place. That could be a sofa or comfy chair or if you have a bathtub, take a bath! Take your time and relax.

Furthermore, it is more comfortable to stand up from the sofa or comfy chair when you first moved there from your bed. Then it’s easier to do some light activities in the home compared to just staying in bed.

8. Watch TV at Morning (Not at Night)

If you have some favorite TV-series that you follow or you have a habit to watch TV at night, why don’t you change it to morning? Nowadays it is much easier since you can use such as NetFlix or other TV On Demand service to watch your favorite TV program in any time.

But remember that there could be the temptation to stay in bed to watch TV. So remember to get out of bed before you open your TV!

9. Start a New Hobby

When you have a free day, it may feel much more sense when you can get some things done. It doesn’t need to be anything practical or productive, but anything that keeps you motivated.

Some suggestions for a new hobby:

  • Knitting
  • Jogging
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Gardening
  • Lear a new language

Whatever you choose to do, it can motivate you to get out of bed in those days when you otherwise would not need to wake up on a specific time.

Why Do You Want to Stay in Bed in the Morning?

You probably like to lay on the bed, because you are not a morning person. Furthermore, the bed is so warm and comfortable. You don’t have any reason to get up, and why won’t you? But is it so bad just to lay in bed anyway?

One reason for staying at morning time on the bed might be that you sleep too late or you can’t get sleep early enough.

That is because you might have a habit of doing things too late, like if you are a freelancer – just like me – or you wish to use social media with the mobile phone very late or any other reason you just stay awake.

That leads that you can’t get enough good sleep and when you wake up morning you don’t feel that there is any reason to get up. You probably feel still tired even if you get about 8 hours sleep. It is just so comfortable to stay in bed and lie on the warm bed.

Why Get Up, Even If You Don’t Need To?

You probably could use your time better (At least sometimes). You could use the morning time for something useful.

If you feel that there won’t be a reason to get out of bed, you should get one.

There could be plenty of reasons to get up.

Like what?

1. You can do your work earlier, and you have rest of the day free to use.

2. You can do any housekeeping activities what you usually would do later.

3. You can do any other light activities what you enjoy. Drink a cup of coffee and just sit on a chair or do whatever you like when you have free time.

4. Exercises! If you ever like to or want to do any exercises, it is best to do them morning time!

So, there are many reasons to get up even then when you don’t have to. However, remember you can decide what do you want to get up for an excellent reason or just for fun.
